Wednesday Links - The Early Answer, No Cookies for Big Ben, & Sharapova's Disappointment
Written by Rob Rogacki

Sorry for being M.I.A. for the last few days, I've had some other stuff going on. On the bright side, it's given me time to build up a nice stockpile of links for the D4L faithful. And no, Joe D isn't trying to trade me to Portland.

  • After only getting 6 of a possible 10 points on a west coast road trip the Wings are obviously in trouble, right? Right? Not exactly. That was written before last night's win against some bears playing hockey. As I said at the GHHT, the Wings are going to be fine. I think they are starting to find a groove without Franzen and Filppula in the lineup. [Freep link via A2Y]

  • Well, that didn't take long. I'm pretty sure most fans expected to at least get to December before hearing Allen Iverson bitch about his playing time. Over at Ball Don't Lie, Kelly Dwyer is absolutely irate with the man (Iverson rant is underneath AI's picture). I haven't seen that kind of venom from KD... ever.

  • For some reason, Ben Wallace doesn't want homemade cookies on Halloween. Not to knock the man, but I'll take 'em 24/7/365. But if any of the Pistons come trick-or-treating through your neighborhood, here's what NOT to give them. [via BDL]
  • The New Orleans Hornets are off to a sluggish 1-3 start, and Chris Paul is upset. I feel for the guy, because he's one of the most exciting players to watch in the NBA, but I gotta say it: I told you so. The Cleveland LeBrons? More like the New Orleans CP3s.

  • Not sure if Vicente Padilla will join Plaxico at Riker's Island for this, but the Cheddar Bob comparisons are pretty funny.

  • As always, Natalie at Need4Sheed has your Pistons' intros for the first game of the year, along with the tribute to Mr. Davidson from Friday's game against the Thunder.
  • Over at Bless You Boys, Ian offers you some bad gift ideas for your Tigers-loving loved ones. I know he's not a Tiger, but a Kevin Youkilis jersey would definitely make that list as well.
Youkilis vs. Porcello
  • Sharapova's Thigh is worried about their reputation with the rumors floating around that she and The Machine are an item. However, this gives pretty much every guy in the world hope that they have a shot with the Thigh Goddess now.

Rob's Highlight of the Day

Ok, so it was actually from Sunday's NBA action, but this is too good to pass up. Dwyane Wade, yes the same D-Wade we should have drafted in 2002, splits the entire Bulls defense on his way to the bucket. [via BDL]
