Tuesday Links - Fischer's Collapse, Crunches for Credits, & a Big (House) Embarrassment
Written by Rob Rogacki
Tuesday, 24 November 2009 11:18

This was meant to be Monday's link post, but Comcast sucks and I was left without internet for most of the day yesterday. So, your Tuesday links:

  • Here's a great piece from Winging It in Motown about the four-year anniversary of Jiri Fischer's collapse during a Red Wings game at Joe Louis Arena. Fantastic stuff from the WIM team.
  • Yes, it's just a game preview, but this is too good to pass up. The guys at The Triple Deke have discovered a great NHL officiating site and were more than happy to share it with their readers.
  • There's no way this would fly in Ann Arbor, but Lincoln (PA) University is requiring overweight students to lose weight before they can graduate. The D4L interns are looking for a syllabus, but were only able to find this in-class video. [via Hugging Harold Reynolds]
  • For those that like to open one Christmas present early (after shaking all of them to get the best toy on Christmas Eve), Guyism has your early Christmas present: pictures from the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show (being aired on December 1st).
  • Over at Maize n Brew, Dave calls out the Michigan fans that sold their tickets to last Saturday's game, allowing the Big House to be a nearly 50/50 split between the Wolverine faithful and inbred cousins Buckeye fans. From what I saw, the student section was nearly 100% maize and blue, but the rest of the stadium was an embarrassment.
  • Finally. Jim Boone of The Hockey News is calling for Gary Bettman's head. I'm surprised The Chief isn't all over this. [via Puck Daddy]
  • Whatever you do, don't watch Remember the Titans after looking at this Hayden Panettiere photo shoot at Guyism. It's just wrong on so many levels.

Rob's Highlights of the Day

I've got another double dose of highlights today because I forgot about this putback dunk by Emeka Okafor from Thursday's NBA action.

Fortunately, Shannon Brown isn't showing any fear after being rejected by Jason Maxiell last Tuesday. The former MSU star climbed the ladder for this alley-oop from Jordan Farmar. Seriously, get this kid in the dunk contest.
