Friday Links - Tiger Woods Coming Back to Golf, Red Wings Beat Wild, & the Official Beginning of March Madness
Written by Rob Rogacki
Friday, 12 March 2010 07:00

Not a ton going on yesterday/today, so make sure to check out a triple double dose of highlights after the jump.

  • According to reports, Tiger Woods will be back on the PGA Tour in two weeks at the Arnold Palmer Bay Hill tournament. Tiger is also planning to return for The Masters, a move that not many are surprised by. Looks like Nike can bust out an old commercial, because Tiger is going to be playing with one massive chip on his shoulder.
  • If you haven't noticed by the number of times I've linked them lately, Thunder Treats is absolutely killing it this week. Their usual weekly chat is with Ohio State basketball scrub and blogger superstar Mark "The Shark" Titus. You can check out Titus' awesome work at Club Trillion. Watch the video, even if you've seen it already.
  • The actual beginning of March Madness is a fairly subjective ideal, but yesterday's crazy day at Madison Square Garden marked the start of this year's madness. Three of the four top seeds in the Big East were upset, including top seed Syracuse and 2 seed Pitt, while West Virginia needed a buzzer-beating three-pointer to survive. Hopefully this continues over the rest of the month, I want an Oakland-Montana National Championship game.
  • Sharapova's Thigh points out an interesting stat on beer sales in the U.S. More and more people are going with local microbrews over your traditional Bud, Miller, etc. Better beer for a similar price? I'm not surprised.

Rob's Highlights of the Day

J.R. Smith unofficially won the 2010 dunk contest on Tuesday night with a 360 alley oop dunk (Chauncey with the assist). No, it wasn't during the actual dunk contest, but it was better than anything we saw in Dallas. [via Ball Don't Lie]

Roberto who? Canucks backup goalie Andrew Raycroft makes the save of the year on a Phoenix forward who thought he had an easy goal.
