Fiesta Bowl Full of Funny
Written by Bob Biscigliano

Boise State is really making a name for itself in the Fiesta Bowl -- remember when they ran a successful statue of liberty play on a game winning two point conversion and then Ian Johnson proposed to a cheerleader?  Yeah, you'd think that'd be pretty tough to top, but Monday night's game against TCU had its fair share of entertainment:

Where shall we start?   [rummaging through my notes]

How about this screenshot labeling Jeron Johnson's major as CUMmunication.  I wonder what that entails...

Halftime rolled out the red carpet for Boise State's marching band and they did not disappoint, either.

Last time I checked, halftime shows don't have a whole lot of songs that feature the cowbell, so this was extra special.  Here's a video of a depressed bandgoer really giving us what we want -- more cowbell.

This girl puts her pants on like the rest of us -- one leg at a time -- except once her pants are on, she plays the cowbell on the field at the Fiesta Bowl.  UPDATE: I know you laughed your ass off at this video, and I did too, but it turns out that this girl is actually blind. So, yeah, not so funny anymore. See you when we dine in hell.

And there were actually quality football highlights, as well.  In the 4th quarter, Boise State pushed the envelope on 4th down, while inside their own 30 in the middle of a tie game.   Instead of punting like normal, by-the-book teams, they had something 2007-sneaky up their sleeve:

Boise State took advantage of that conversion and scored what would be the game-winning touchdown.  Rejoice! A real state of jubilation for all that is Boise State. A 14-0 record is nothing to sneeze at.

Then Kyle Efaw happened:

You hear that? That's the sound of pure euphoria weezing out of the stadium after Kyle Efaw responds, "probably not" to Chris Myers' question, "Do you think of your team as number one?"  After a BCS bowl game victory that improves your team to a country's best 14-0, you'd think he'd evoke some confidence.  I was expecting "Fuck yes, we're the best" (stadium erupts in applause) or at the very least, "we deserve recognition,"  (cue hootin' and hollerin'), but nope.  Instead, he completely takes the air out of the moment.   You can't tell from the shoddy video I took, but at the end of the interview, as he's walking off, he makes a face that pretty much says, "Wow I blew that big time."

Either way, thanks to Boise State, cowbell girl, and Fox for another entertaining Fiesta Bowl.

I don't mean to make fun of the girl, but could she at least smile? She's gotta know that there's millions of people watching the game, even if she wasn't aware of the camera in her face.
