As a baseball fan, I spit on anything BUT a seven game series

Lots of records broken in Game 5. All for a good cause too -- more baseball.

Chase Utley tied Reggie Jackson's record of five home runs in the World Series with his second two homer game of the series. Never interrupt him.

Ryan Howard tied a 1980 record for strikeouts with 12 in the World Series.

Cliff Lee was the first pitcher to beat the Yankees in a Game 5 when Yankees held a three games-to-one lead since Don Sutton in 1977. It's the first Game 6 in the WS, period, since 2003 when the Marlins beat the Yankees in six.

Jayson Werth became the first person in the history of baseball to have more HR trots than actual HRs, apparently.

And Derek Jeter failed for the first time in his life in the clutch, right? ((Seriously though, what was he thinking staring at that perfect 2-0 pitch?))

As a baseball fan, this game wasn't the greatest (it was good), but all I can ask for is more baseball to be played.  The baseball offseason is the shortest of any sport, but it always feels like the longest.  If I had it my way, I would say push the MLB season to 200+ games and into January/February before starting Spring Training again right after the World Series.  I don't get tired of it one bit and if there was some way to give these players enough Red Bulls and cortisone shots to play that long, I'd be the first on the "I fully support that" train.

In the end, I think this is going to be a Yankees championship, and if it's actually going to happen, then it might as well happen at their home stadium -- the stadium's first year -- in a seven game series.  It's good for baseball, but not for umpire Mike Everitt's, and others, chances of contracting lip cancer from all that gameday chewing tobacco.
