Welcome Pavel Datsyuk to the 2009-2010 Season

Datsyuk is only about seven games late, but he's now officially "present" for the 2009-2010 season.  After being held scoreless up until the Vancouver game, Datsyuk netted two, and picked up his fifth assist of the season, to help the Wings get back to the .500 mark.

With Franzen out for a few months and the Wings having lost some talent during the offseason, Datsyuk is one of those guys who will need to pick up his playmaking and/or scoring.  It was good to see him do just that against a hot Vancouver team, even if it was a little tardy.

Jessie will probably have more on this one sometime tomorrow.  Final props to Jimmy Howard for proving me wrong tonight, playing solid as hell, and picking up his second career victory in exciting fashion.  Go Wings!

I'm kind of disappointed that there isn't a youtube link to the scene from Lord of the Rings where Gandalf comes in to save the day. At least that's the feeling I got seeing Dats play tonight.

Of course I can't find that clip anywhere on Youtube. Way too many LOTR trash videos on there. Who knew LOTR would be such a popular subject for Youtube? (Complete and total sarcasm)
