It's not exactly the lame twitter race to a million followers Ashton Kutcher started between him and CNN, or the recent NBA race between new Piston CV31 and Chris Bosh to 50,000 followers.

This one is actually much more interesting: Detroit Pistons rookie, DaJuan Summers is racing his pornstar friend, Valerie Luxe to 4,000 followers.  What's on the line, aside from twitter pride?  If Summers wins, he gets a massage from Luxe and if he loses he has to take her to the water park (I'm taking their conversations literally here).

Here's the Tweet I saw when I first noticed this epic twitter race:

At first, I had no frickin' clue who Valerie Luxe was.  I figured it was his girlfriend.  Then I clicked on her Twitter name and saw that she's probably the "girlfriend" for a lot of guys as she's "your favorite pornstar."

And the irony of the rules for their little twitter race?  Luxe told DaJuan Summers he is not allowed to promise sexual favors for followers when one can google Valerie Luxe and find, well, some not so safe for work stuff.

I'm all for a woman making a decent living for herself, but I think I'm going to pull for the somewhat classier, NBA rookie here.  It helps that he plays for our beloved Detroit Pistons.  Follow DSummers35.

Oh by the way, I think that statement was a bit biased:

I don't think any "rookie" in any industry can be compared to Ms. Luxe this easily in terms of classiness. Valerie is one of the classiest pornstars I've seen.

Don't label her "dumb" or "dirty" just because she's a pornstar. Not every pornstar get their brains totally f***ed out, especially not Valerie. She knows how to use her brain as well as her body! Just read her Twitter if you don't believe me. She really is right about a lot of things.

@NastySteve I'm confused here because you (as well as Valerie herself) have gotten all offended by this post like the writer wrote how terrible this contest idea was.

All Bob did was inform his readers (Detroit fans) about a contest that one of their newest players was participating in. He doesn't judge either member that is competing just says he's rooting for Summers because he is a Detroit player.

Can someone please explain to me why there is such a big fuss over this post?
