Repetitive Lions losses are more fun to break down in pictures

Lions come out of the stadium tunnel in Seattle to jeers from the rabid Seahawks fans.

signs

Culpepper and a couple other Lions appear to notice the two creative signs a couple Seahawks fans spent all week thinking up.  The one on the left, held by a guy in what looks to be a personal No. 1 jersey, let's the Lions know their sex and that they are unable to play football.  The guy on your right thinks his sign is hilarious.  It merely points out the obvious with an ill-advised hyphen.  Yes, the Lions lost at home against the Rams.  I think "You went 0-16 last year" would have hurt a little more.  Despite the signs and the boos, the Lions came out ready to play.  In fact, Louis Delmas loves all the heckling.  "Pour it on," he says.

And the Lions proved they were ready to play...for a little bit.

They were so solid early on, Matthew Stafford was completing passes without even looking at his intended receivers.  He was 9-14 for 2 TDs in the first quarter.

Detroit jumped out to a 17-0 lead in that first quarter, but you'd be an idiot if you thought that meant anything.

It didn't seem like Stafford switched up his "no-look passes" strategy, as he would wind up throwing five interceptions.  Yes, as painful as Stafford looks to be in.  We all made this face after INT number five.

Once they got up 17-0 it's as if the Lions didn't want it anymore.  Here's a good pic of three Seahawks going hard after a loose ball.  I realize Kevin Smith is trying, but the picture looks like he's giving that lazy guy reach from the couch.  "I can't reach the remote.  Can I get some help?"

Don't be fooled though. Neither team really wanted to win this game.

"You win...No, you!"

This game really was a testament to how bad the Seahawks are too --  to allow the Lions to jump out to a 17 point lead and then let them stick around late when it could have been put away.  They deserve credit for not giving up, though.  If the Lions ever fell behind 17-0 in the first quarter, which they did like 16 times last year, they would have never fought back like the Seahawks did.

FYI...

No, Dennis.  We'll fix it.  By not throwing to you.  Then again, forcing it to Calvin didn't really manufacture desirable results.

Lions lose 32-20.

And here are the local headlines with fitting pictures:

Hey, the Pistons won today.
