The best thing to take from the Lions game on Sunday came before it even started.

Longtime Tigers broadcaster, Ernie Harwell, was an honorary captain for the Detroit Lions and just as you'd suspect, it was another one of the countless reminders as to why Ernie Harwell is such an admirable person.  Despite being diagnosed with inoperable cancer at the age of 91, Harwell has taken it in stride and vows to continue living his life to the fullest.

Immediately after putting the No. 1 home Lions jersey on, Ernie Harwell broke into a little dance, possibly showing off his touchdown celebration that would trump the Ocho Cincos of the world, before taking the field as one of the captains of the squad.

What a great lesson that should be for all the Lions players.  No matter the 0'fer losing streak, putting on an NFL jersey every day is a reward that should not be taken for granted.   If seeing a 91-year old man, who knows his days are numbered, put on the jersey of the worst NFL team over the last decade doesn't create some sort of inspiration or hair raising reaction with the Lions, and people in general, then I don't know what else possibly could.
